Having access to systems-level information from single cells is currently revolutionizing our understanding of complex biological systems. This is particularly true for our understanding of stem cells, processes of cell differentiation and mechanisms of cell fate decision. Systems biology methods in general and single-cell technologies in particular offer unprecedented opportunities in this field of research, but at the same time, the fast pace at which such technologies appear and evolve pose unique challenges. The Vienna Cell (VC) Network serves as a platform for the scientific community at the Vienna region to share and tackle these challenges. The aims of the VC Network are to disseminate the work from the local groups interested in the broad fields of stem cells, cell differentiation, cell fate decisions and regeneration, to promote collaborations between the groups, to facilitate sharing opinions about novel approaches, and to announce relevant talks and events.
